A story that is very old in all wars of a sacred job that was bestowed but just to a very few, who with all of their human compassions. Performed a task that was seldom known, only to God and the one’s that had passed on. They who had made the ultimate sacrifices and gave their life never to return home to moms, dads, brothers, sisters, girlfriends, children, or to their wife. Even thou the job grim and hard to bear each and everyone that passed thru were given special care. I count it an honor and privilege to have been there. Caring for those who are no longer with us now, but have departed who were the brave, the proud, and the few. Who now are walking point for me and you. The ones who knew and love them will never forget. For far above in golden halls, far above from our human calls for its all down there, and now they are safe and rest in peace above us all. To care for the ones who have died and whose stories would never be told, some times the job was messy and never clean, for it was us the Graves Registration personal the last ones on the scene. We knew each and every one whose eyes we closed would never ever see the sun shinning and who’s internal life and mortal soles of their memories that they left behind shall always glow. The job was very hard at times, you had to bite you lip so that your emotions that were within caused many times tears in your eyes to slip. With mind and heart, you went about your task to do your part, for each and every one, who has passed was finally going home at last. Memories shall never fade away, to all that have known them, we will all meet again some day. For many faces I have seen, wiping their faces to make them clean. Sometimes with expressions of disbelief knowing that now their resting at last in peace. |
