Statue of general George S. Patton
Dysina, Czech republicOn the 7th of May 2005, Dysina a small village outside of Plzen in the Czech republic , played host to over 55 World War II American Veterans who liberated Czechoslovakia in 1945. The Mayor of Dysina, Mgr. Vaclava Kuklikova along with the Grandson of General Patton. Mr. George Patton Waters with his lovely wife, representatives from the Ministry of defense of the Czech Republic, American embassy and other distinguish guests. Mr. George Patton Waters along with the mayor of Dysina, unveiled the statue in commemoration of 60 years ending World War II and the liberation of the Czechoslovakia.
After two years of work, the military car club of Plzen managed to place the statue of Gen. Patton in Dýšiná, under the leadership of Milan Dlouhy president of the military car club. Gaylord J. Toole, public relations spokesperson for the military car club placing a wreath on behalf of the Society of the Fifth Infantry Division for whom he is a member.
The realization of the statue became reality and was presented to the public for this special occasion in honor of one of the greatest generals of World War II. Gen. George S. Patton. The statue was created by the world famous Czech sculptor, Mr. Jaroslav Bocker, who has created others wonderful pieces of arts and memorials within the Czech Republic and abroad.
