On the 11th hour on the 11th day of November 2007, a group of war veterans and other concerned citizens gathered to unveil a new memorial for all soldiers who have given their life in the cause of freedom.

 

 

Scarce heard amid the streets below a new memorial was unveiled at the foot hills in Slovany Park, a memorial of remembrance for all who have died in all wars.

 

 

 

Members of the ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ OBEC LEGIONÁŘSKÁ , fought in the trenches of France in World War One, to which a memorial stands at the main train station in Plzen that was erected by the communist during the communist era.

 

 

This Veterans Day brings about a new memorial for remembrance for those who have died in all wars, making this the first memorial for lives given during all wars and the first memorial to honor all soldiers before and after the fall of communism in 1990.

Wreaths are carried by war veterans from the army of the Czech Republic for governmental officials.

The Czech Veterans Association is made up of brothers and sisters, who are war veterans that have served in many foreign countries, performing different missions around the world as peace keepers under NATO.  Not only veterans of the Czech Republic are included in their membership, but also veterans from other countries who are war veterans.

 

 

Brothers of War, Czech and American war veteran from the Society of the Fifth Division, US Army, Europe pays tribute to all those who have given their lives for the cause of freedom in all wars.

 

The Czech Veterans Association is a brotherhood of brother and sisters dedicated to being there when called, giving and caring for the needs of veterans and their families, carrying on with military traditions from the past.

 

 An historical presentation was presented with different military uniforms that have been worn throughout the military history of the former Czechoslovakia, but known today as the Czech Republic.

 

From World War One, World War Two and once again today since 1992.

 

 

 

 

A Czech mother is present for the unveiling ceremony, with tears in eyes she clasps the medal and flowers that are given to her in remembrance of her son and his sacrifice for his service to his country the Czech Republic.

Veterans Day

Hands-on flag instructions are given to ROTC cadet members on the proper flag positions when flying the Stars and Stripes within a host country. The Junior ROTC color guard from Vilseck, Germany, leading the 17th annual observance Veterans Day parade, which is held in part with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, City of Rokycany and Military Museum on the Demarcation Line.
